Onion Printing 08/08/13

Onion Printing

by Thrifty Stamper

If you've read my column before then you know that I try to pinch every penny. This week I'm going to show you how to use a dried up old onion that I found in the vegetable crisper in my daughter's refrigerator!

For this card you will need:
Stamp set: Autumn Glory
Ink- black, brown
re-inkers- brown and blue
cardstock
paper plate (coated one works best, but others can be used)
sponge spot
Cardstock for base and layers
adhesive
punches for sentiment
onion

Cut the onion in half.
Squirt re-inkers onto paper plate in two different spots.

Ink the cut side of the onion with re-inker.

You will want to experiment with these on scrap paper. You will see that the more ink that is used the darker and fuller the image will appear.
Stamp the blue first. You do not have to continue to ink the onion. You can off stamp the image as seen below.

Now stamp the brown.

Let the onion printing dry.
Now you can add some color.
Sponge in brown ink.

Cut cardstock to size.
Stamp images in black and color.
Cut out images.
Cut layers and assemble card.
Finished project.
