101 Ways and Counting 08/25/13

Welcome to my Sunday Column. Glad you stopped by.
Today I want to show you a card that I did with this pretty mini "Festive Wreath" set, by Mark's Finest Papers. I created a front door with just a few cuts and some distress ink.
Here is what I created...
This is a very simple and effective way to show this beautiful set. I cut my base at 4 1/4" x 11". I folded it at 5 1/2 to have it open at the top. The panels are cut at 1 1/2" x 3". I used my score board to score all the panel edges at 1/8" and also around the door. I added a brad for the door knob. I stamped the wreath in pine green and then cut it out with two scalloped circle Nestabilites. I stamped and cut the sentiment and added it to the bottom panel. I added lots of distress ink in "old paper". Glued a festive bow on top on the wreath and theres you card!!! Easy Peasy...
Hope this give you some inspiration.
Thanks for stopping by and I would love to have you join me next Sunday.
Hugs, Jane

101 Ways and Counting 08/18/13

Welcome to my Sunday Column. Today my card is for Halloween. I know it's early but I found this fun way to show a stamp and sentiment.
Here is my card...

I cut four rectangles out of purple card stock and embossed them with a small dot embossing folder. They were lined up and folded down to expose the cute bat and sentiment which I stamped on white card stock. I added this layer to some "creepy" Halloween paper. This was added on top of a bright green card base. Ribbon was added also a stick pin with some bakers twine and the card is complete!!! Now to mail it off to brighten someones Halloween.
The stamp set I used for my card is "I'm Going Batty"by Mark's Finest Paper's and Stamps a HRC.
Well that's my column this week! I hope you stop by again and be sure to visit the other columns for some great tips and idea's.
Hugs, Jane

101 Ways and Counting 08/11/13

Hi, and welcome to my Sunday Column. I hope you are enjoying your weekend.
This week it's all about "holes". I saw this darling card on Pinterest the other day and thought Mark's Finest space stamp set would make this card perfect!!
Here is what I did...

I cut out two circles from a dark grey shimmery paper. I then got out all the circle punches I had and started to punch holes around both circles. I used a large dot embossing folder for the background, punched out two stars, and also used an edge punch for the top green panel. I cut out and colored the space ship with my markers, then made the fire coming out the back with yellow card stock, crimped it and added some red on the tips. The sentiment I stamped and added punched circles randomly.
I hope you like my card today and will be sure to visit the store to get this fun set...

Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you again next Sunday!
Hugs,
Jane

101 Ways and Counting 08/04/13

Hi and welcome to another Sunday Column. Today I will be posting a fun card holder I made to hold 4 small cards. Your tip for today is stamping on ribbon or seam binding. I used some off white seam binding and stamped the sentiments from the "Just a Note" stamp set on to the ribbon with distress ink. You can use ink or anything that will stamp a clear image. Here is my example...

Here is a closeup of the sides of the holder...

I will be posting a tutorial on how to make this holder shortly so stay tuned.
Thanks for stopping by and see you next week...

101 Ways and Counting 07/28/13

Welcome to my Sunday column. Glad to have you stop by...
I was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest and I wanted to share it with you. It was easy to make and I liked the way it turned out.
I used my die and cut the 5 openings spaced evenly apart. I marked the bottom layer cardstock to make sure I placed the stamps in the openings. I stamped the Lotus flowers from the "Lotus Blossoms stamp set" and colored
them with Copics and topped it off with two strings of bakers twine. Couldn't be easier than that!
I hope you will try this.
Thanks for stopping by,
Jane

101 Ways and Counting 07/21/13

Welcome to my Sunday column. Today I would like to show you how I made a bowl to hold these cute strawberries from "Celebrate Big" stamp set by Mark's Finest found HERE.
I created the bowl by cutting an oval shape and trimmed off both ends to make the shape of the bowl. I cut a triangle for the bottom and set the bowl on top to create a bottom. Next I cut a trim piece for the top and embossed this with a small scalloped embossing folder. For the handles I cut two small circles and adhered them to the sides. I stamped the strawberries, colored them with Copics, cut them out and placed them in the bowl. I added the heart and a small flower for some sweetness. Hope you like my card and will give this a try.
Thanks for stopping by this Sunday and I hope you will visit me again next week.
Hugs,
Jane

101 Ways and Counting 07/14/13

Welcome to my Sunday column. I hope you all had a chance to hop along this month at our Blog Hop!!! Mark's Finest Papers have some darling new stamps and the designers did some beautiful work showcasing them. If you missed it you can find the new stamps in the store.
Today I have a card where I used just sentiments from different sets to create a fun card with no meaning really. Just whimsical and different... I love how the sets have wonderful fun, serious, corky, saying in each. So I am showing you how you can just use them on a card instead of the image... Here is my card:
Here is the inside...

I hope this gives you an idea for using those cute and fun sentiments. If you need a few more be sure to visit the shop at Mark's Finest Papers.
Thanks for joining me this week and have a great week,
