Purple Passion 08/28/13

Happy Tuesday scrappers and welcome to my coffee addiction! I always like to show you how to use my favorite color, PURPLE in your projects, even when traditionally, purple wouldn't necessarily work. Today is a good example; how do you work purple into a card about coffee?
Well for starters, I found an adorable cut file in the Silhouette Store. It's supposed to be a gift card holder, but I made a few modifications to make it into just a regular card.
I used the adorable Mark's Finest Paper's Oh Beans stamp set. The outside "cup sleeve" is stamped with coffee beans and the inside has the sentiment and the stacked coffee cups image. I used Elizabeth Crafts Glitter Ritz for the sparkle on the cups. You can see a tutorial of this awesome stuff HERE. After I got all the glitter in place, I used an old purple off-brand stamp pad to color the cups and then I used the coffee image again to stamp the insides of the cups.
.
I would love it if you stop by my blog, Scrap This Save That, when you have a chance and say hi! Until next week...
Happy Scrapping! ~Amy E

Basic Backgrounds 08/27/13

Hope you haven't lost your marbles because we are going to need them this week. You need a small container with lid, re-inkers, card stock and 3 to 4 marbles.
Tape the card stock to the lid of your container. Add the marbles and several drops of each color you want to use.
Close the lid and shake. Shake back and forth or up and down. Get crazy. Sit it down and open the lid to see what you have ended up with.
Here's the card I made.

Crafty Moms - 08/25/13

Good Morning Everyone and a Happy Sunday to you all.

It's An'Jneic here from AJ Scrapbooking & Cards.

It's my day to post and I'm so excited to share this really clean and simple card with you all this week. See the kids here in Washington state has went back to school yet. The don't go back till September 4th. Where's in Mississippi where my mom works they have already back in school. They started this week. My mom works in the main office. So on Monday me and my oldest Terrion picked with my mom about having to go back to school early. So on Monday we were up bright and early to give her a first day of school call. And when she got off we even call then to ask how was her first day of school. So it was fun to see my mom go back to school. And it felt in way like we were sending her off like she did us. It was truly a blessing to have this moment in our life time with my mom. So when you get the chance to send your parents back to school enjoy it.

Now my card is inspired by this moment in time. So I created this BACK TO SCHOOL card for my mom and I will let the girls sign the inside of the card. For my card I used Lesson Learned by Mark's Finest Papers. When I first stared this card my thought was to try the chalkboard technique. And I have to say I didn't do as good as I would have liked but I found a way to make it work for me. =) I created this super cute 3x6 card. I really love the over all look of my card.

Here's my card for this week

I hope you all have a great Sunday
Stop back by next week to see whats going on in Angel's life as a Crafty Mom.

101 Ways and Counting 08/25/13

Welcome to my Sunday Column. Glad you stopped by.
Today I want to show you a card that I did with this pretty mini "Festive Wreath" set, by Mark's Finest Papers. I created a front door with just a few cuts and some distress ink.
Here is what I created...
This is a very simple and effective way to show this beautiful set. I cut my base at 4 1/4" x 11". I folded it at 5 1/2 to have it open at the top. The panels are cut at 1 1/2" x 3". I used my score board to score all the panel edges at 1/8" and also around the door. I added a brad for the door knob. I stamped the wreath in pine green and then cut it out with two scalloped circle Nestabilites. I stamped and cut the sentiment and added it to the bottom panel. I added lots of distress ink in "old paper". Glued a festive bow on top on the wreath and theres you card!!! Easy Peasy...
Hope this give you some inspiration.
Thanks for stopping by and I would love to have you join me next Sunday.
Hugs, Jane

Get Inspired: Rand Park Garden 08/24/13

There is a park about a mile from my home, called Rand Park. Every summer, civic groups in our community adopt a flower garden in the garden area. Last time I was there I think there were 20 gardens. This photo of a butterfly was taken in one of the gardens.
For my card I tried to make a hot pink and yellow flower out of mulberry paper. I used a couple of different flower dies to cut the hot pink. The yellow center was done by quilling a fringe. At first I thought one flower would be enough for my card, but it didn't feel finished so I made two smaller ones with yellow brads in the centers. I used the butterfly from Mark's Finest Papers set called Daffodil Greetings. I wanted it a little bigger than the stamped image, so I stamped it and scanned that into my computer using Microsoft word. I then enlarged the butterfly. I could have used word to make it smaller as well, but I didn't know that I wanted to make smaller butterflies when I printed it, so the butterfly in the right hand corner is the original sized butterfly from Daffodil Greetings and the itty bitty one is from Mark's Finest Papers set called Scenic Selections. I made this card for my daughter as she starts her second year of college. I used the sentiment from Mark's Finest Papers set called Be a Showoff. Friday is move in day for her, and I am going with her to help her unpack and get settled in. So that is why, if you happen to peek, that this is posted a day early I am going to be gone later and won't be around to post this later. I think the burlap and lace makes a great background don't you.
